I was thinking Flagstaff really should be covered with Swiss chalets separated by Dutch or Venetian canals. Same as your area, mine has dry washes but which are inadequate for snow melt and heavy rain. Am half expecting overflow and neighborhood flooding later today and overnight what with a series of heavy rains of late, but we also are looking at golfball sized hail, 70mph winds and tornadoes, which are all pretty common during any rain, any time of year in the Southern Plains. Last time the neighborhood went under water, I watched from inside as my septic tank lid lifted under water and blew lovely large brown bubbles. Kinda ruined the idea of a backyard swim.
