at least in my limited experience. The recoil impulse on the 454 that I shot (Jim Taylor "kindly" let me shoot a cylinder full of Corbon 360 grain through his) Buffalo Bore 45 Colt is more than enough for me. I'll stay away from the 454, thank you very much. I'm intrigued by the 475, but if given my druthers I'd have the 500 Linebaugh instead. Or, stick with the 45 Colt in a Ruger Vaquero or Blackhawk - which will handle anything on the North American continent with aplomb.
