were some of my favorite times. Rock & Roll was in it's hey day. We wore our hair long and our jeans tight. We dressed in bell bottoms and high heel boots. Beards and mustaches were a common sight and quite often so were afros. We liked our music loud and spent a lot of hours in rock concerts. The older crowd didn't like us but we could care less. The media did their best to portray us as dopers and freaky people. There were some that fell into that category but for the most part we were just young people enjoying ourselves and our music. We worked during the week but enjoyed the weekends. One of the vice presidents tried to ban us and our music, but failed. In fact he was himself banned from the office of VP. Radio went from Lawrence Welk, Dean Martin, Pat Boone, Peter, Paul & Mary and many others to the British Invasion of the Beatles, the Stones, and dozens more. The older crowd tried to ban our music of the day but failed. We went from Leslie Gore to Janis Joplin. from Ritchi Valens to Jimi Hendrix. From Buddy Holly to Bob Segar. And the beat goes on and we loved it.

From 1963 thru the rest of the 60s and thru the next 23 years I was in rock radio and loved every minute of it. I could come to work in cut off jeans and tie died T shirts and quite often did. In radio we had rock concerts just about every weekend and got to see a lot of freaky people but they never caused any trouble. So people can bad mouth the 60s and into the 70s but that time period was one of the most enjoyable times of my life.
