The gun is my Star PD. It was rated the most dependable 45 auto in Consumer's Guide To Handguns for 11 years in a row (before they went out of business). John Taffin and Jim Taylor both have PDs and the gun writer George Nonte wrote about them quite often. Jeff Cooper carried one quite a bit and it was one of his favorites, even though he was a 1911 freak.

The PD has a one piece rounded top and sides on the magazine so never a hangup.
