You may be right as Elmer was running his hot loads through the older guns. But I doubt the cylinder was all that "special" .. just made of modern (for the time) steel. Which to me would be wise. I did the same thing on my Colt SAA which was made in 1887. I bought a modern Colt cylinder and fitted it.
