they trained P-38 pilots. He told me of several accidents and crashes he knew of. Two he witnessed himself and relayed to me as a boy. The kind you never forget.
He also told me his buddy was a rounder and they went to a bar to drink beer. A "queer", his words of the time, approached his friend and propositioned him. They agreed to go to the bathroom together. The "friend" cold cocked the hapless homo and relieved him of his money. Times were different then, the notion was that the act was justified. I see it differently, but a footnote of history. Two wrongs don't make a right.
