can. My Dad had 2 45s, one marked 45 Government and the other 45 Long Colt. That was in the early 50s. We hunted the 45 Long Colt. The Government Colt was considered for target use. If I remember right, Jim Taylor has a box of 45 Long Colt. I apologize if I am thinking of the wrong person, but 45 Long Colt has been around for at least 50 years. We had both versions at our house.
