The short scope base and this BIG scope are not the best combination. I'm going to swap bases to a longer "rifle" type. I think the .429 Pirate barrel would benefit from the short base. We have so many it's easy to jockey parts to get the ideal combination. I got the ring/sights cheap and think they are somewhat useful. A solution hunting an application.

The short rubber forend also looks a bit off here but ideal on the 9" Pirate barrel.
