The 300 gr. pointed projectile for the .405 Winchester is a diameter of .411", a simple matter to mash it through a LEE sizer to knock 0.001" off the size. That makes it a perfect hefty and thick jacket slug for super deep penetration in .41 single shot platforms. I have even done some very drastic re-shaping by taking it all the way down to .401". It's best to chuck the sizer in a vice to tap the lubed bullets through with a mallet, too much stress for a press. I'd not care to go farther than that.
A more rational application is to re-size them for use in the .401 WSL at 0.408". Easy to do. I can make the WSL cases from several things, including the .414 SM far left.
