they made shotguns but went under. Marlin picked up and developed the action design for rifles. An interesting point is none of the rimfire Levermatics were seralized, no numbers at all. The first 4k M62's wer not seralized either and they tried to fix that. If you have a 62 that's not numbered it is super rare. They made about 15k M62 centerfires about 8k in .30 Carbine and the rest .256 Win.
This steel frame .22 WMR is post 1960, and they stopped all of them in 1969.
