CCI primers, in my experience, tend to be a harder primer.

I think J.D. was right to tell Alcorn to get away from CCI primers but I also think any other primer, magnum type, would have done as well as Federal. Any gun that has had a light action job, lighter than normal hammer fall, will have a misfire from time to time with CCI primers. We use CCI primers on our proof loads figuring if our action job will set off a CCI then it will set off any primer. I never use CCI primers in my hunting loads just in case.

I will have to correct myself on one comment. I said I never use Federal primers. Actually I do. I like the Federal small pistol Match that I use in my Raptor cartridges.
