one or maybe 2 guns with them to Africa because they feel they won't need more than that. I always tell them to bring 3, as that is what you are allowed. Murphy's Law always prevails in Africa. Anthony Ransom's 405 Ruger #1 has been shooting great groups, half inch at 100. Today it misfires. So he is going to try a few things to see if it can be fixed. Colleen sighted in her 458 this morning (Africa time) and the new Leupold scope blew up, Jim Frost had an extra one so she is changing scopes. I put an extra scope in there for her but it was a pistol scope. Thank goodness Jim had an extra rifle scope.
In Africa like nowhere else, SHIT HAPPENS. Lee Jurras used to tell me about all the things that went wrong on his safaris. He said it got to where it happened so frequently that he even had a name for them. He called the Silly Safaris. So any of you that are planning on going on the 2020 African hunt, remember that and bring extra scopes, tools to change them and anything else that you can think of that might go wrong. The weather can be a bitch too. The weather forecast that they went by called for sunny skies all week and the first day they get there it rained. They were watching the weather for Kimberley but Kimberley is 4 hours from where they are so they can't go by that. So a good rain jacket really comes in handy. Again Murphy's Law prevails.
