I busted a press linkage not thinking that through. You must have a flexible "lead" core to allow the sides to give.
Often it is inconvenient, but if an intermediate size step can be made, it sure would help with leverage effort.
My .51 moulds throw bullets from .513-515" and I needed to lube them. Lyman 450 only has the .512" that is still too big for my .510 GNR revolver. But I use it to fill the lube grooves. I do a final LEE .510" push through size. It's not bad since I'm not shooting thousands of rounds and it works acceptably.
I got stuck with some really odd size bullets that are really nice projectiles. What to do?! PAPER PATCH! It works great and is a nice way to relieve tension at my desk. With a little information and time you can do about anything. You rough up the jackets a little by rollling on a flat file, then the jackets roll up on the wet paper just fine. It grips so tight when dry you'd have to carve it off with a knife. I rub a bit of liquid alox on the paper and it lasts forever. Well probably at least 100 yrs.
