you don't tear it, and it does not tear while tightening during drying it will work. I used the copy paper in my printer, because that's what I have. By specifics and not sought out attributes it is a 20# weight, 75 g/m squared 92 Bright. They cite the "rag" content and such. Most paper these days has some plastic in it too. The brightness has to do with the chemical bleaching. What this does to the paper quality I'm not sure. You want it bright for copy paper.
Mainly you want the end of the wrap over the edge of the ojive of what bullet you are using and the thickness pretty uniform or ending where you started pretty close.
