don't clean your gun unless it needs it.
Second..if you do clean it, don't take it apart to do so. Run a dry brush thru the barrel, put a tiny bit of gun grease on the bottom of the slide and let it go at that.
Third...always shoot 10 or 12 rounds thru the gun after cleaning it to get it back to where it was before, accuracy wise.
Four....enjoy sleeping on the couch for the next 6 months.
