Back in my day we had the initial issue of m-16's inbthe transition from the M-14. The bolts back then were atrocious and carbon from one range session could cause misfires. We were "trained" to field strip the weapon, disassemble the bolts and clean everything including using a brass brush on the firing pins after each day of use.
