Smiled at your comment for it brings back very fond memories of a friend who saved & saved and after a few years ordered a 26" .257 Weatherby Magnum. Came adorned with an extra fancy piece of wood, a truly magnificent trigger and a one-in-a-thousand barrel. First 3-rounds at 25 yards were a single hole. Again at 100 yards! Well under a quarter-of-an-inch at 200, measured by some bench rest buddies. This continued to ranges you'd call us liars about! Plus the chrono was always higher than it was supposed to be. The kicker - it was factory ammo (Norma I believe)ยก! Expensive but damn!! Too damn pretty for the field but with us it went, albeit with care. Let's just say the local coyotes paid a stiff price as two of us had .17 Remingtons and when we ran out of reach (infernal wind never stops), he took over with devastating results in comparison to our pin-pricks...
