It was the first real gun I bought with my own money from working and getting a printed paycheck. Later when I could afford it I bought a M29, then a 629. I've had several of them too. My last one was a 5" full lug 629, I kind of wish I had it back. Traded it in on a BMW motorcycle. Even then I still kept a SBH. I never liked the grip though. It looks cool but my hand never finds a sweet spot on it, the square back always whacked my knuckle and I have smaller hands! So I fixed mine. The wider hammer, unfluted cylinder, and grooved trigger are subtle things that make it a SBH. It feels like a SBH that I can hold on to. It hearkens to my youth and still gets it done.

The S&W is nice, get one too if you can. But I'll always keep a SBH.
