1888 with a .318 bore. BTW it shot the factory Winchester .323 just fine. I passed on a European early sporter with dual triggers and one of those early post and cross hair scopes in that fancy quick detach mount. It was not exactly cheap but a buy for what it was, and the quality. No one wanted it because it was a 8x57J (not the .323 JS bore).
Most of my 8's were M98's that had been sporterized on some level. I've always wanted a nicely done 8mm-06. They were supposed to be quite popular but it seems the owners seldom sell them.
