It's the experience ... the "journey" if you will ... not necessarily the end result that is worthwhile. Though it is always satisfying when it works out well.
The Kahr .45 ACP I cleaned up and then gave away is being used and the person who go says he really likes it. Easy to carry concealed and works well for him.
That was pleasant to hear.
The Mosin M44 had 2 barrel bands that held on the top covering wood and held the barrel down against the stock. Yesterday I relieved the stock and floated the barrel. It was touching at least 2 places on the bottom and one on the side.
While I was at it I turned the barrel band completely off so the front sight/bayonet band now is basically the same as the majority of the barrel.
Not sure it will help but we will see.
