But you have to be careful with statistical data. Out of how many thousands of guns and millions of rounds fired?! It's a lot more complex system to me compared to even the multi-component swing link 1911.

I cannot believe it was run through the trials. It shocked me back in the 1980's. Corruption and a pay off was obviously in play. Think of what was in the running. Ruger's P85 was a big but simple and sturdy gun. Who al else was in play?! It was time to retire the 1911 as the Army demanded a DA gun and that Colt Eagle thing was total trash.
