A not to heed for any .17 shooter, wind indeed.

I have a Savage rifle, heavy barrel with sleeved action and laminated thumbhole stock. Honestly with a calm day it will shoot 1/4" groups at 100 yds. and about any 17 gr. ammo you can find. Add some wind and it opens to 1.5-2". Boy what a difference. I seemingly am no good at doping wind, it's best for me to just go home.

But for a handgun it shoots to it's effective range, about 100 yds., so flat and accurate. No worry about a bullet bouncing into the next county. It does not have the poop of the the .22 WMR but is the full ballistic twin of a .17 Mach II rifle. I'd probably not buy one outright but it is fun since it's here. Now to pray the ammo comes back! I also have a .17 HMR 14" TC that is great practice for my GNR big bores as to trajectory and range. Given the wind limitations mentioned.

Fun is where you find it. I have the process of getting a master combination to my Cannon safe that has had the digital combination changed without my knowledge. It will be my last digital combination safe I ever buy. I have very little hope of anything at all remaining inside but I need it anyway, so I can get it's use back. I sure need it back.
