a little background on Charles. He is cagey in especially those old posts, but what he was doing during Vietnam was working on "The Farm" in VA, testing and evaluating spook gear, including survival gear/weapons/ammo and in concert with local machinist and gunsmith, supplying same to such legendary operative/"troubleshooters" as Harry Archer, Harry also was a big fan of Bob Loveless and had Bob make the now famous Chute Knife. I have Harry's old knife from before then, a Randall #7-4 1/2 with stag. Charles went on to do R&D/QC for Ruger, also instrumental in design of the M16A2 for the Marines, and also Technical Editor for the NRA.
In short, if Charles tells you something, it has been tested and verified by highest statistical sampling methods again and again and again, pressure/velocity/accuracy/whatever. His basics for groups are minimum of 10ea 10rd groups, just to begin to have any statistical confidence.
