Casting Melt Pots
Tuesday, March 01, 2022, 16:42

I've been studying during my down time. The Lee Pro 4 20# pot seems to be well thought of. Must work well because it is sold out/back order status unless you want to pay a premium price on Amazon/eBay. The 220V versions are readily available.

I have one or two cast iron skillets with warped bottoms that I can use to melt for pouring ingots. I ordered a Lee ingot mold along with some sizing dies. I also have a Coleman camp stove. How well does a 2 burner Coleman & skillet perform?

Plan to hit some Goodwill/Salvation Army stores to look for spoons, ladles & a sifter scoop. Damned Covid is keeping me home surfing the 'net & watching YouTube videos on casting. Wide range of skills, equipment & safety protocols on display.
