I have diamond and bench stones and I have a KME fixture and also 3 strops. I can with work get a wonderful edge, but that is not what I was looking for. I was just overwhelmed with 4 new knives and I should have gotten a belt machine to get the proper burr. Doing it by hand is work and I am sure too old for that to be fun. I really like what you said about maintenance and doing it fast on many knives.
