I put a 38 Super barrel in my Rock Island 9mm 1911. The Rock Island is a ramped barrel, and doesn’t bulge brass, and the ramped 38 Super barrel from Fusion Arms supports the case far enough that i haven’t bulged any 38 Super or 38TJ brass. The extractor in my 9mm was a little on the loose side, even with tensioning so i replaced it with a 9mm extractor from Fusion Arms, i did modify the extractor a little bit and had to blunt the forward end because it was hitting the back of the barrels chamber area. It has run fine with an 18lb recoil spring.
Vihtavouri N105 powder and published data at the higher pressure actually does run the lighter and medium weight bullets up close to 357 Magnum territory. Accurate #7 looks like it may do the same, but i can’t find any these days….and the N105 does great anyway.
The most i’ve reloded cases is 5 times, and i do lose quite a few. But i really like the cartridge. It isn’t as powerful as a 10mm, but it shoots a bit flatter.
