you can save money on your electric bill by switching to LED bulbs throughout your home (perhaps 10%). I would stay away from compact fluorescents as I have had more than one almost catch fire. One was right over my daughter's bed. The base melted and turned brown/black, it melted the glass tube. I do not like them. Plus the powder inside is toxic. As usual they cost lots more too, both types.
