I had a pristine PD.45 that I let go. But

I turned a good dollar on it. I bought a G30s. Glock made a 30 and a single stack mag 36 in .45 with a basically G19 slide. The LA special crime unit guys got to swapping parts. Put the 36 top on the 10-shot 30 compact bottom. The swap worked fine. It was a few ounces lighter and a little thinner. But it FELT a bunch lighter and more compact! It’s subtle numbers but a big difference in feel. So the factory got involved and did it themselves, the 30s model. A soulless tool. But one that works, always.

If I had your resources I’d sure keep a few that really stirred me inside and I enjoyed to carry. I actually still do. But I also keep a good tool handy. G30’s, 21SF, G23/19 and a Taurus or two in the farm trucks.

It’s great to carry cool old pieces that we enjoy, that work as well as ever. I just stopped enjoying carrying such a nice PD and passed it on to the next to experience. If I had all the nice ones I let get away… boy I’d have a high pile.
