I loved the little S&W 3913, a real sleeper gem

I never had a S&W auto that was very accurate but I liked the craftsmanship. I favored the 4013 too. I had a couple "Chief Specials" ultra chopped larger platforms too. For a factory gun they rivaled some of the old masters products. They all functioned well, just not target guns. They made them in 9,.40, and .45. Worth searching out.

For a revolver the little J-frame size .357's are good but what a tiger by the tail with full power ammo! For one or two more capacity a K-frame or L-frame platform sure does tame things. A RB M10,13, or 586/686 2" is a good revolver version of what the 1911 Commander is to autos. It fills that niche for wheelgunners. I have a pre-M10 2" but it is a square butt. If you want to carry one look for a RB, you won't be sorry as the grips (truly important on a CCW revolver) options are much greater.

I know CCW masters teach to choose a platform and stay with it. I admit that makes the most sense. But it's not near as fun for a shooter/collector, gun fancier. I actually feel most capable carrying my .44 Special El Diablo custom. I had Rob Leahy make me a special Sourdough rig for it. I've taken some game with it and know that it performs.
