But off-road is not one of them. They are only good for about 5000 feet of elevation change and don’t do well at extreme angles and really bumpy roads. That is a generalization, some carbs are specialized and do better than others. When I started turning wrenches most cars still had carbs and points. Anyone remember setting point gap using a match book for a subsatute for a feeler gauge in a pinch?
