which is only an elongated and more robust .45 Colt case. Then he has the rounds on the .460 S&W which is the aforementioned lengthened even greater.

The .38-40 and .44-40 are very close to .45 Colt cases necked to .400 and .427, but not exactly. You can do wild and dangerous things hot loading them in modern strong firearms. Not a practice I truly condone, especially since I like the old antique guns too. I might mix them.
