but if your revolver has has a smoother action job, the hammer fall might not be hard enough to set off a rifle primer which is much harder than a pistol primer. I normally tell people to use small pistol magnum primers in the 410 GNR or 429 GNR. The Freedom Arms revolver in 454 has a real stiff hammer spring from the factory which has no problem setting the small rifle primer off, but if we give it a slick action job, then we have a potential misfire problem. So if you load for the 410 GNR or 429 GNR and have an action job on your revolver, switch to small pistol magnum primers.
