I use the 255 grain cast bullets in my .410 GNR Encore and the 350 grain cast bullets in my .510 GNR Encore and my revolver. I really cant tell the difference in recoil in either caliber. I have a .475 LB with 400 grain bullets in another Reeder made Encore. Soooo, how come the LB wants to hit me in the head and the .510 (I cant get anyone else at the range to shoot) does not? Other range shooters will shoot the LB and it recoils a whole lot more than either the .410 or .510, but are afraid to shoot the .510. Is this just a matter of felt recoil versus real recoil or what? I have killed hogs with all three and the .510 is my go to for just about everything, including deer. One shot does it. When I go to a rifle in .308 I use the 150 grain for almost everything in the South that I hunt. Lots of difference between the 255 or 350 and a 150 grain bullet size (even if it has more velocity)and at 50 Yards which is about the max here in North Alabama the animal is just as dead and doesnt seem to know the difference. BTW, I dont shoot the .475 LB much anymore as it just hurts my wrists and hands too much - arthritis.
