Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst.

I've spent a lot of years preparing for tropical storms. I find that practical experience useful.

1) Keep plenty of LED Lights and Batteries.
2) Have generators and fuel for them. Also, cans of gasoline or diesel. Whatever your vehicle requires.
3) If you don't have a waterwell, keep gallons of water.
4) Clearly, we've covered guns and ammo.
5) Here ATVs become legal for any use during emergencies. Like them or not, infinitely useful items if you need them.
6) Don't go anywhere without a knife. They're very quiet...
