Springbok (65 Lbs) with a 270 she borrowed from the Ph (her guns hadn't arrived yet. They got there on the 3rd day). It hit the animal just behind the shoulder. The animal slammed to the ground, got up and ran he ran about 200 yards before piling up. When we got to the place where he fell at the shot, his heart was in a bush behind where he stood. He ran 200 yards with no heart in his body.

An another hunt in Africa we jumped a big Impala. the PH told me to shoot him as he was record book quality. The animal was at a fast trot straight away from me at maybe 50 yards. I put a 375 grain bullet up his ass and at that he ran like he was on fire. We followed the blood trail and the animal had jumped over some dead brush and his entrails must have been hanging out and caught on the sticks in the dead brush. All of his guts were ripped out and were on the ground where he jumped over them. The Impala ran for maybe 100 yards before dropping and all that with no guts inside him.
That's how tuff African animals are.
