I've shot a ton of mule deer,WT antelope pigs and elk with both. The 308 will dang sure do it, but I noticed the 300 put them down alot quicker , my daughter saw me spot a bull elk and said dang he went down hard, and she has sot alot with her old 270. Bottom line have confidence in the cal and your abilities. I love them both. But shoot alot
