shot a cast frame. All 1911 frames are cast. The forged frames are something that has come about in the last few years, but they were still cast, but being you seem to know it all name me one 1911 that was not cast. I get that crap all the time from guys that know it all saying that they wouldn't have a gun that was cast. Everything is cast. I have a 45 ACP longslide 1911 that I used in combat shooting and has a minimum of 70,000 rounds thru it and I have never replaced a part. And I was shooting hot 230 ball. And it was cast back in 1976 and was not forged.

Old Bill Ruger was one of the first that developed a special casting process that pretty much gets rid of any gas bubbles or other internal defects.
