I like to PC, then water drop my .454, 300 grainers. I have found you really need to Gas Check and size them in a day or two, as they harden up noticeably. The shooting I have done, shows a nice and clean barrel.
I also just stick with the wet PC method, as I do a lot of casting and coating in cold and freezing Northern weather. It works better for me here.
