I bet it’s very safe. I found cast bullets, generally, run 100-150 fps faster than jacketed bullets at the same given pressures. Not in that platform, but a specialized prepped .45 Super Glock 21, I shot that same projectile, with an oversized gas check added, at 1400 fps!

The 1911 platform overloaded will first blow a case head. Few .45’s have full support or ramped chambers. If not that, in fully supported chambers, the barrel link will be the next to go. I’ve been in close proximity to the first, and the cause of the latter. No real damage to either shooter or firearm. Thank the Lord.
