in the ass with a 458 is still a shot in the ass. In Africa always shoot the largest caliber you shoot well. There is no such thing as being "overgunned" in Africa. On small animals like a Red Duiker, at 15 lbs, a 375 H&H will just punch a 375 caliber hole in and a 375 Caliber hole out. It will not open up on a small animal. Forget what works here in the states. African animals are extremely hard to put down. The best advice I can tell you is pick the largest caliber you would shoot here in the states and go up one caliber.
