while living in Oracle, AZ we raised some hogs. We butchered them ourselves, sugar-cured the hams, rendered the lard (which made excellent tamales!) and had some of THE BEST pork.

I took the bladder out of one that I had just opened up, washed it out and then blew it up and tied it off and gave it to my 6 year old daughter for a balloon to play with.

She went off around the house throwing up in the air and having a good time. A while later she came back crying. I asked her what was the matter and she said, "The cat ate my balloon!"

I had not thought about fresh "balloons" and the cats ...
